SILVERSTONE SST-TJ07

Has anyone used this case? Thinking of using in a new system I am building.

Anyone know of any issues with noise, airflow, design etc... that cannot be fixed with replaced stock fans etc..

Welcome to the AT forums.

Unfortunately, Silverstone put more effort into appearance than function, so I don't think it's worth its high price. The TJ-05 is a better real-world case. But if you just want to impress the rubes with how much you can spend on a case, well the TJ-07 will definitely impress the rubes.

If you want a big case that functions well, look at the CoolerMaster Stacker series. Or maybe the Tt Eureka or the Armor - the one w/o the side window - dump the blingy fans for some that really work like some Yate Loon (for intake and CPU) and some Sanyo Denki (for exhaust or your WC radiator) and you'll be in biz.

Well if you want to spend a ton of $$$ just get the lian li aniversary edition! $300!
Seriously, a great, functional and cool case is the lian li pc7b +2. Like zepper said, yate loons are cheap, quiet and good performers. The sanyo denki's are really high quality stuff, like industrial grade material, that's why they're $19.
The cooler master centurions are a good budget case, some can be had for ~$50 shipped. Also check out the antec slk3000b if you want cheap.
The only thermaltakes I would consider are the shark and eureka. The armor is too blingy for me. Both mentioned have aluminum bezals in addition to aluminum bodies, most other tt's have plastic bezals which is tacky and annoys me. Their fans are loud though, as many will attest to.

In your opinion, what makes the TJ07 less functional than say the 05?

The O5 is a more reasonable size, it has more toolless features, Reduces noise with a door, inherently quieter as it's made mainly of steel. the 07 has about half of what it should have for that kind of $$s. If I was to spend that kind of money on a case, I would expect every i to be dotted and every t crossed and they just aren't - very disappointing. I'd expect every drive mount to be rubber isolated, dual and redundant PSU ready, toolless assembly, etc. etc.

Silverstone should know every feature available in the case market place and every useful one should be in there. Putting all the money into that extruded frame was just silly when a little welded bracing would have done the job just as well. For that money you should get a removeable mobo drawer too.

Heck, I'd even take a Tt Eureka over that.
