Silverstone motherboard screw dimensions?

A friend gave me an older Silverstone case that has ten stand off screws that are finer than the Antecs I have. None of the motherboard screws i have with thread in them. I'd like to use bigger thumb screws to thread into the stand offs but I'm not sure what thread to look for. Silverstones website doesnt seem to have the info.

Any ideas?

You ought to be able to replace the standoffs to get the thread specs you're after. It looks like there are two types: #6-32 and M3. My guess is that you got M3 and need #6-32.

i've had 3 silverstone boxes. afaik, they use 6-32 1/4 inch phillips. hex-headed screws used elsewhere in the box also fit the standoffs:

are you sure it's 10 standoffs and not 9?

There are generally only two different thread types in computer cases.

Thumbscrews

Look for the finer thread ones. I think they are the ones labeled "M3."

its either 6-32 OR it could be off the lian li style which is M3.

6-32 is what you use to screw in a hard drive on the side. Not a 2.5 inch, but a full size 3.5, or the PC Card holder in your PCI-Bus lanes.

M3 is the screw which u use on your CD ROM,.

Top is a 6-32 bottom is a M3.

Yep! it was the M3. i have a friend who has all kinds of spare screws and i got what i needed. Thanks for all the help!
