SilverStone 850W and Intel DX79SI power issues

howierr

Hi guys, I ran into a problem with our latest builds and was hoping someone might know a reason for my problem recorded in video below...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA81qma4C9Q

So far 10 of these PCs with the same exact sepcs are showing this issue. After unplugging the power cord, the power/reset LED on the motherboard blinks continuously for a few seconds before it completely turns off. After Power Failure [Power On] does not work when this happens.

I have swapped to another power supply (SeaSonic SSR-650RM 650W), and I have not observed any issues with the SeaSonic power supply. After Power Failure [Power On] always works with the SeaSonic, and the power/reset LED never blinks after unplugging the power cord.

This system is never overclocked. Always running at normal clocks.
DX79SI BIOS version 0590.
All BIOS settings are default, except for: "After Power Failure [Power On]"

System Specs:
Intel Core i7 i7-3960X 3.30 GHz @ 3.30 GHz
Intel DX79SI
Kingston 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Non-ECC CL11 DIMM KVR16N11/4 (4 sticks = 16GB total)
SilverStone ST85F-P 850W
eVGA Video Card GTX680 DDR5 2G
Noctua CPU Cooler NH-L12 Low -profile

Is it possible this power supply is just not compatible with DX79SI or any other hardware in the list? I am hoping that we didn't get 10 faulty power supplies from SilverStone...

Any advice is appreciated!

I can't help you, wish I could; am sure others here will be able to, but just want to say, THAT VIDEO IS BRILLIANT.
