Melt value is $15 per oz so a tube of 20 ounces for $15 would be the hottest deal in history, lol

I think if you order in multiples of 20, they come in mint tubes. Any odd number of singles will probably come in soft plastic slips.

It's 15.76 per one 1oz. coin. Add one to cart and that's what it shows. I'd be more concerned about how reliable this place is, never heard of it before. Oh yeah, and the shipping for 1-12 coins shows at $9.95, 13-31 coins is $12.95, 32+ @ $19.95. Seems like it would only be worth it if you order in quantity.

They are one of the largest precious metals dealers in the country..dealing in millions of ounces of silver and gold. They even mint their own bars.. You can find their stuff sold in pretty much any coin shop in the country.

Gold & silver are awful as long-term investments, and if civilization collapses no one will give you food for them. Guns, ammo & canned goods are more useful purchases for the apocalypse.

For long-term investments this would be a good time to buy an S&P 500 index fund.

... but if you want to own some silver "just because" this sounds like a good deal.

I have some extra bread n beans stored when the zombie apocalypse comes, I'll gladly trade some for a few ounces of gold or silver..but all the paper in the world won't save you..and I'll have guns to protect myself as well. ;)

I think I'll end up throwing my guns at the zombies since I can't find any ammo for them. ;)

That's why you need a backup melee weapon that doesn't use ammo.

Someone needs to research the Super Sledgehammer before it's too late!

I sold all my silver right around peak value. Good timing for once. It financed this computer!

Remember, for zombie purposes you want a hefty weapon. Sledgehammer is good, fire ax, real machete, That sort of thing.

Against zombies, polearm weapons are a no-brainer.

I don't know. My 5g Gold bar has appreciated nearly 100% over the last 5years since I bought it. Now however, is probably not a good time to buy gold.

The 5g bar was for my 5th wedding anniversary. I'm celebrating 10 years this year, so I placed an order for a 10g bar. I think this falls under the "just because" clause ;).

My biggest fear is that the zombie apocalypse and the robot uprising will occur at the same time. The silver would be a good investment in the event of werewolf/vampire attacks though.

Try telling that to the people who bought gold for $275/ounce ~10 years ago. It turns into a great investment when the economy fails. ;)

Try telling that to the people who bought gold for ~$700 ounce around 1980, and watched it fall to around $500 in '82 and stay below $500 for over 20 years.

The current peak value is likely to plummet in another year or two, until the next major crisis.

We are printing trillions of dollars right now folks... The current debt is $11.4 trillion and we have projected deficits of $9 trillion over the next decade, total stimulus costs (including "loans") of $13 trillion..and about 50-60 trillion in unfunded liabilities for social security and medicare. You really think the paper dollar is going to go UP against precious metals with all this money printing? lol. ;)

How long did the yield on t-bills stay negative?

Panic makes people pay crazy prices for t-bills, or gold. Once the panic ebbs, prices crash back to Earth.

Edit: my first timewarp, woohoo!

I'm very interested in this Goldbug, however I was always told to buy silver/gold in a physical shop. Is there anything else to verify this company besides their own about page?
