Silver Arrow SB-E and R4E, First PIC-E slot unusable?

Could someone with a R4E and SA SB-E verify that the cooler's fins block PCI-E #1? Pictures if possible.

Also, if true, have you tried shifting the HSF base during mounting to take advantage of any play?

That's the original version. It fits, I'm currently using one. On paper the SB-E version is 8mm larger. What I need to know is whether the actual one is that much larger, and if the mount has any play that would allow the cooler to fit.

8mm is a lot of space. I doubt it would have enough "Play" to it to fit. You could use something like this:

Maybe you should contact Thermalright and Asus about this? Also search Google if someone's asked this already. Unlikely to find someone with those exact two components just by posting a thread on a forum.
