Silly question

I succumbed to flat panel demons finally - three 2001FPs now grace my desk, and they are lovely ... except for one of them. I have a x800 Pro and a 9200 PCI - so there are two monitors with DVIs - but the third - the second monitor off of the x800 - is VGA and I'm hating it. I don't think I would have noticed the issue if the monitor had stood alone, but next to the DVIs, there's a big difference.

I'm going to replace the x800 with a 6800 Ultra - looks like the last big bang for the AGP slot anyhoo, heck. I'm now looking for an NVIDIA solution to stuff in the PCI slot (I suspect mixing the two on the same machine wouldn't work out that well.

Thoughts? I want something as peppy as possible, of course - though the 6800 is cleaning me out, so price IS an object at this point ...

Congrats, 3 LCDs must be VERY nice 😀
If you must switch to nvidia, a quick newegg search brought me here:
FX5700
FX5200

id go 6800gt agp and then 5700le pci(i think le isd the only 5700 available)

I agree. nVidia and ATI drivers wont play nice together. I think the 5700le would be your best choice.

And yes, three LCDs is nice ... though I find that I keep misplacing my pointer, plus you often have modal dialogs popping up somewhere else and assuming an app has locked ...

I'm sure you'll have a pity party for me now ... 😉
