silly question about ram/cpu

i purchaed a new 2500+ barton and soltek golden flame mobo

the problem is, my ram is only pc2100. since the cpu runs at 333 fsb, will i even be able to achieve stock speeds, let alone overclock it without replacing my ram?

No.

You could be lucky and have some good memory that you could run at 333. But its more likely you will need to buy some PC2700, or better if you plan on overclocking, to run at 333mhz fsb (PC2700).

Yes, you can achieve stock speeds, but you may have to adjust the divider in the bios.

any recommendations on ram brand? people dont seem to be using crucial too much anymore..

Kingston HyperX, Corsair, and Crucial are all good, albeit the first two are better for overclocking.

I dont see a problem you can run async. I know my Nforce2 board supports this. Not sure about yours tho. YMMV.
