Got in my Corsair XMS PC3200 last week and was looking forward to the serious bump in bandwidth (from pc2700 crucial).

I lapped the northbridge and southbridge and attached zalman passive heatsinks to each (the northbridge took quite a lot, I have the older rev with the copper chip set in a bit inside the casing, but got it nice and flat). Fired in the two sticks of RAM, and went for 200...crashed on login to 2k. Dropped it to 195, same thing...190, booted fine, ran prime for 24 hours...no errors, memtest for 12 hours, no erros. Looks good...dropped the timings to 6-2-2-2... and reran prime and memtest...all good. 190x10.5 is nothing to laugh at...until I tried to play wc3...crashed after 2 minutes. I angrily set the timings back to 6-3-3-2.5, wc3 still crashed. Continuing to be frustrated. Dropped the fsb to 185 (x11) timings at 5-2-2-2 and everything runs flawlessly.

This is on a 8rda+ with chipset A2/A2 running a 2100+ 0302 AIUHB. I can push this to 2.2 GHz but I need to get vcore up to 1.8, and temps rise into the 40's. There is just something nice about 2 (2.044) GHz 1.625 vcore, and mid-high 30's load temps.

Eh well, it runs Folding@Home just fine

Now what am I going to do about that video card (GF3 ti200)? ;)

LOL

Maybe after I am done with my JD and MBA.

Forgot to ask...anyone have any other suggestions as why I would be limited to 185 (could be 189 but I really don't care enough to hassle with 4 MHz). And what would it be about WC3 that would cause it to crash that wouldn't have shown up through Prime and Memtest (specifically at 190)?
