Silly MIT people

Linux doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the web. And neither does Windows. Both operating systems are standalone.

They were just trying to talk about Lynx and somehow juxtaposed "Linux" into the mix.

Maybe they're the same people who say "Version 6" when you ask them what version of Windows they have.
 
They're more likely the same people who spew coffee all over their keyboards when you ask them what version of Windows they have.
