Silly haircut question...

I cut my own hair for the last four years (college), so I'm not sure what haircut etiquette is. Do you normally wash your hair before going or leave the gel & stuff in?

I ask because it'd be more convenient to go straight to the haircut place right after work instead of stopping home & washing my hair first. Do they care either way?

FWIW I have pretty short hair, I normally get a 1-1.5 on the sides & back and ~an inch on top w/scissors.

I ALWAYS wash my hair first.

A lot of places can/will wash it for you first as part of the cut.

I usually wash my hair first, but i've done both. They can do the wash for you, but it typically cost a few extra bucks.

Most niceish places will wash your hair anyways. I would feel a little weird going in if I had tons of gel in my hair, though.
