Silly ebay question

Should work.
Unless the proggy thinks you are a different bidder, then it should just bump your current bid up a tad to top it.

Did that make any sense??

I just tested it out without confirming the bid.

It will increase my current bid by one increment (in this case, $0.50).

Guess it's not as smart as we would like.

You have to increase your maximum by the increment, but it shouldn't raise your current bid. I've done it many times.

Yep.

One caveat:

If you increase your bid and your current bid is lower than the required bid increment over the next higher bidder it will raise your bid to that minimum amount.
