I have the MSI K7T266 Pro2 board.... One of the problems i have is that the Heatsync I'm using has a 4pin connector on it, and no 3 pin option...

I was wondering if there is a way to make a plug that could fake out the motherboard, to make it stop alarming because it doesn't see a CPU fan.... What the header is looking for is basically feedback from a variable resistor in the motor right?, we couldn't we put together a plug with a fixxed resistor to fake it out?

Anyone ever heard of such a creature?

No, but you can go into your BIOS setup and disable the alarm! If not, but a nice three pin case fan and stick it on the header. You'll kill two birds with one stone.

Bios is a no go.... there is no option to disable it...

The case fan is a good idea, and I did that, but for some reason the RPM kicks in and out, so sometimes it boots fine, and sometimes it still alarms... I guess I could look for a new fan.

or a resistor. 100 ohms on a 12 volts.... .12 amps - that is what normal fans draw. note that you'll need a 1.5 or higher watt resistor though.
