I have some SL-5 Silicone lubricant. My friend told me that this paste can be used as heatsink compound Is this true, and how well does it work?

I'm guessing, but I think it would act as a thermal INSULATOR, which is just the opposite of what you want,

I have some silicone based lubricant... called Wet Platinum. It actually works really well to lubricate the pads on the bottom of computer mice - makes them really glide across the mouse pad.
