I want to seal up something that I will be drinking out of and I am wondering if Silicon sealant will release chemicals into the water. If it will, would hot glue release chemicals into the water?

I use silicone sealant in my aquariums, and the fish never have had any trouble related to water quality. So I'd guess it would work fine, considering that fish are often more picky about their water quality than humans are. :)

If you do, wait till it fully cures. In theory you should use a food grade adhesive, good luck finding one though

Nope.

Just leave it for 24-48 hours to cure like I told you before. :D Oh, and wash it off after it has been left to cure. (you don't want to be drinking acetic acid remnants.)

Once cured, silicone is completely inert.

yeah, but you had a specific brand of sealant. I didn't have any time to get that, I also already had some sealant and I didnt want to go out and buy more, I have other things to spend my money on ;).
Yeah, I also decided to change my tactics to get my questions answered :D

I don't know what chemicals are in hot glue... but I would advise against it.

Spend the five bucks and buy the proper sealant. You'll be able to use it for other stuff too. <puff, puff ;)>
