I've been attempting to set up a RAID 5 setup on my system for some time now. I finally figured it out using the Silicon Image RAID 5 utility to create the array then formatting through computer management in the control panel. I then was able to install windows on the RAID drive. When I restart to boot Windows it doesn't recognize the drive. I go through the BIOS and it doesn't recognize it as a bootable drive (I did the legacy RAID setup). Silicon Image has a BIOS flash that supports RAID 5 (current BIOS doesn't). Here's where I run into my (hopefully) final problem. How do I flash the BIOS.

SiI3114 is built into my K8N-E Deluxe mobo. Nvidia nForce3 250 chipset

If you go to the MSI website, under technical support, you can download the latest bios. With that, copy the two files onto a floppy, should be an awflash program and then the bios file. Make a system boot disk also, a:->Format->Make startup disk. Then reboot to the system disk you just made. Once you get an a: prompt, eject the system disk and insert the bios disk with the two files. Do a dir to see the name of the bios file, you'll need it once you start the awflash program. Then run the program and give it the FULL name of the bios file, extension and all. It will give you the option to save your old bios before proceeding, which wouldn't be a bad idea. Then, just run the program and it will update the bios. That's it. Simple enought, isn't it :)

Asus' support site

On the left side, click "How to Upgrade your BIOS?" for directions.

Even though I engineereeyore said MSI, I believe he meant ASUS.
