Silicon Image or Nforce raid controller?

So, when I got this rig I set up my two 160 GB hard drives on the Silicon Image 3114 raid controller in raid 0, but since then I've heard a few things about the Silicon Image raid controllers being prone to failure and stuff. My hard drives also seem slower compared to a single 160GB on the same raid controller in a friend's nearly identical system.

I've been contemplating reformatting and installing them on the Nforce raid controller. Would this result in any performance gains and be worth the time it takes? OR, maybe, is it possible to transplant the raid 0 configuration from the Silicon Image controller to the Nforce controller?

Edit: Haha title typo.

Well, my A8N32-SLI Deluxe only has 1 Silicon Image plug so I don't really have an Option. I though the Nforce ones were faster since they were linked directly to the NB/SB. Don't really know. And if it aint broke don't fix it.
