SilenX iXtrema CPU Cooler

Interesting what they did with the fins. I would think the fins would make it a) as efficient at cooling but lighter than the 7700 but b) louder, those fins will cause more air turbulence.

Also SilenX fan have gotten a pretty bad rap. Not that Zalman's are the cream of the crop, but who knows.

EDIT: Just saw the noise specs, 12-24 dbA? DO NOT BELIEVE THEM.

EDIT#2: That's the FanMate1. Maybe the licensed the patent(s) from Zalman.

Comes with a fan mate controller. I bet Zalman is making them for SilenX.

I do like the crinkeled fins=slightly more area and air turbulance for cooling but with
the heat pipe HSs out now, this unit is yesterdays news.

A typical Cooler Master 120 mm would have to spin around 800 RPM to achieve 13 dBA. I also doubted the 12 dBA rating at 1000 RPM. Heck, my Cooler Master 120 mm Silent LED gets around 20 at 1000 RPM.
