SilenX fans - any opinions?

I was looking into picking up a few of the 80mm SilenX thermistor fans at bigfootcomputers.com but doesn't look like many people have had experience with them? Any recommendations? Am I better off with Panaflos? Anything's better than the damn Sunons I got now. Frickin' hair dryers...

Great fan..My mate has some with his FX53..Very quiet, great cooling..

Not very well know in Australia however..

Judging by the lack of response, they are not very well known anywhere...

I heard they are good fans
I would like to know too, because I want teh damn quietest I can get, and I don't want to use a fan controller, it annoyed me when I had one.

but dont panaflows only blow like 24cfms?

Panaflows have better CFM to dBA ratio's them just about any fan. Also it's worth noting that SilentX fans are just relabeled from other manufactures, I think they are primarily Adda's

There was a hoopla a while ago about the SilenX brand actually being used by more than one company and they were not all of the same quality. Bigfoot says that they carry the real SilenX products and from what I've seen they are a reputable company. The real ones are supposed to be pretty good, but I don't think spcr recommends them anywhere. That lack would make me lean towards panaflo, personally.

Silent X just spins very slow. The Panaflos use a Fluid bearing design not a ball bearing therefore running much quieter. I will only buy Panaflo now that i bought 1 about a year ago.
