The drive is silent except when the disk is being accessed: there is a horrible grinding sound that vibrates the whole case it seems. I took it out from the chassis and just left it to sit in the interior. Now I have just realized that this isn't too good because the drive is at an angle, but the drive is silent during disk access, the vibrations are gone.
But I think that the drive needs to be in the chassis to transfer heat, right?
