Silent PSU, Enermax vs Antec

Building a brand new PC soon and I want it as quiet as possible. It'll be an Athlon XP 1700+ or 1800+ without any o/c save for the graphics card (GF4 Ti4200). Primary power uses: gaming and video processing. Secondary uses: net surfing and homework.

So wich is better, Enermax *Whisper* or Antec Truepower in the 350W (±10%) range?

From what I've read in other threads, the Antec is quieter but the airflow can drop significantly when at low load and makes everything else heat up.

Since my PC is in the bedroom, it really needs to be quiet when it's beddy time. My current PC is too loud and I need earplugs to sleep when it needs to run all night.

As a comparison of what I find to be a tolerable noise level, my VCR, wich is slightly louder than average, is quite acceptable when it records those late night shows (and is also in the bedroom). Too bad I don't know how many Dbs it has.

I don't know whether the Antec would speed up with your setup, especially since I don't know how well-ventilated your case is. With my setup, Lian Li PC-10 modded for better air flow, undervolted L1A case fans and a 1Ghz P3, the Antec is much, much quieter because it never goes above it's starting fan speed. I suspect that even with somewhat warmer case temps, the Antec would be a lot quieter.

The antec just doesnt have enough airflow to keep itself cool. Its quieter than the Enermax but Enermax is tolerable nevertheless.

I have a TruePower and it is very very quiet (virtually silent). It doesn't matter tho because the fan on my Ti4200 is LOUD...well, it's the only fan that makes any noise in my rig.

I'm using an Enermax *Whisper* and I can't really hear anything from it. It's definately the quietest set of fans in my case.
