From the label in that image, "FSP Group" is basically the same as Sparkle Inc that I can get around here. Ive had really good luck with them, although not quite as silent but you will pay a bit more for ones from antec and enermax

I have been searching for reviews and it seems that this FSP group only makes the power supply then the brand makers come and install the fans, which this is all about:p

I read somewhere that the fan in this ps spins at only 1200rpm so it should be quiet, right?

I have that Fortron power supply in my system. It is indeed silent and very well built.

Everything in my system is silent, so I would definately be able to hear it if there was any noise output.

If this was the Fortron/Sparkle with an 80mm fan you would be right. But this one has a 120mm fan is is reported to be among the quietest PSUs available.

I have a 300W Fortron PSU with a 120mm fan...like the others say, it's pretty quiet. It emits a slight whine when I first boot up my system but then it goes way after Windows boot up.

Yeah, isn't it? I wish I had the 350W model with 120mm fan. I have the Fortron FSP 350W with 80mm fan, and it was a little loud like you said. But I put a quiet fan in there so its okay now.

but does it realy go away, or is it just muffled by the other fans ;)

The fan speeds up for a couple of seconds on boot up and then goes back down to normal speed.

I see in one of your rigs you have a radeon 9700 pro, is that the card you are using with the power supply?

Yes,
I have a 2100+ o/c'd to 2300Mhz, 9700Pro, Epox Nforce2, LG cdrw/dvd combo, and a Seagate 60GB ATAV, and two NMB 80mm fans.

I was just about to post a thread about this. I just swapped out my old Athlon 1Ghz, and Epox 8KHA for an Athlon XP 2200+ and an Epox 8RDA+ (Rev 1.1)...I ALSO switched from a 300 Watt Sparkle Power to a Fortron 350 Watter....the computer is now SILENT...it's incredible. I've got 2 case fans going in there, the CPU, and the new PS. Everything was virtually the same except the Sparkle Power. That thing was loud as HELL. This Fortron 350 had me wondering if my computer had booted up yet when I left and came back into the room! And it's rated as one of the top 3 PS's and it's CHEAP! Can't beat that right? :D:beer:
