In the interview, the French director reveals that with the next Silent Hill movie, he wants to correct the mistakes he made with the first one. He admits that Silent Hill 1 was a difficult film to make, since it was necessary to organize a complex mythology which is not known to the general public (I guess it?s tricky to make a movie based on a game popular to the masses).

Gans explains that there is a possibility for him not to be the director of the Silent Hill 2 because of his Onimusha plans. When asked who would be the best candidate for a Silent Hill sequel, he responded that his movie should be kept out of Hollywood. Maybe it will be best for the Silent Hill franchise if the next movie remains European, French in the best case. At least that is what Christophe Gans thinks.

I think Doom 2 the movie should do the same. All Hollywood wants to sell is big boobs and fake blood.
 
I'd rather the movie really stick to the game, so I guess it's good he didn't have it go Hollywood. alyssa, do you go to the silenthill uk forums or something? I swear that's where those pictures came from.
 
Holy hell Diaz is spot on. 😵

I like gore...but not marvel comic gore which ends up making us laugh instead of cringe. Maybe a little more mystery than dialogue filler too.

I think Kathryn would be far better actress than either of them.
Her extremely pale complexion would suit the role- Mary/Maria are either dead or some undead doppelganger in James' subconcious. I think she'd be perfect. Quick, someone convince her agent.😀
 
It would be very interesting if they could turn Silent Hill 2 into a movie - but I fear they might continue with the plot started by the first movie instead of starting anew. One of the big problems I had with the movie is they seemed to want to merge the two separate plots of the first two Silent Hill games into one, and it worked out very poorly.

And this reminds me, one of these days I've got to go through Silent Hill 4 - it's still on my list of things to do.
 
The Room? I never finished it either. I got close...but The Room was lacking that methodical and psychological element from the first 3. It actually felt disconnected from the series.
