Silent gaming (need help)

Hello,

I'm a (hardcore) gamer who lives with my girlfriend, and shes annoyed by the constant clicking.

I play games with quite high mouse action and while i managed to find a good silent keyboard to suit my needs I'm having a hard time finding a proper silent gaming mouse.

It needs to be large (those microscopic things make my hand hurt) good for gaming and not make a loud 'click' whenever i press the button(s).

I've only found a few silent (non-gaming) ones but every review seems to slaughter them.

Does anyone know anything that could be helpfull?

While searching I've come across many people who have the same problem as I (wife sleeping etc.) but none with a solution (other that custom building your own)

Kind regards and thank you for any help you can provide.

We got two rooms, bedroom and living room, and living in Copenhagen (capital of denmark, so not that cheap to buy something big)

while my computer IS in the living room, its kinda disturbing for her if shes watching a movie or something to have 'click click click click click' (apm around 120 with mouse only) in the background.

I could move my computer to the bathroom, but no :)

No such thing as a silent mouse.

There are quieter ones but they all suck so take your pick.

=/

I actually believe that if razor or some other manufacturer made a quiet edition of one of their popular ones they could get quite a few customers. Not enough to make them rich, but enough to pay for whatever development it might require and the effort.
It might even generate some PR being the first to make a good quiet gaming mouse.

well, for example my logitech g5 has 2 small buttons that let you increase or decrease sensitivty. they're much quieter than the 2 main buttons. if your mouse has something like this perhaps you could create a profile under which those buttons function as the main buttons?

Get a good mouse you like, go to DTU or IHK, and bribe an electronics student with a case of beer to replace the switches with some silent ones.

Damn, best suggestion so far. It would just be so much easier if i could order one online and have it delivered instead. :)

Since your Girlfriend is annoyed, why not fix her problem and not make it your's? Get her some really nice comfy Circumaural headphones. I love mine, and I hardly realize they're on, not to mention if she listens to music it will change her life! :)
