Just out of curiosity and interest,

What are the silent cases out there?

i got the fractal R4 home and it's near silent, what other choices there are?

Is there any around 50-75$
75-100?

thx!

I'm not sure that any of those are better than the Define R4 however. If it's not quiet enough, you might need to rethink the components in your rig.

Fractal Define Mini... I use it as my HTPC case it's so quiet.

Yep, I'm using one as a 24/7 server with 6 HDDs loaded up in it. Have the on board fan controller turned down. Could I hear it in a room that was totally silent? Yes. Can I hear it over the sounds of every day life? Not on life's quietest days.

Mine is front and center in my living room... with an extra 120mm fan up front, all set at about 60% The only thing letting me know it's on is the blinding blue power LED... fixed with a tiny strip of black electrical tape.

Uber solid construction, adaptability/expandability, sound damping material (each side panel weighs 3.5#! ) good thermals, fan controller... doesn't look like a 3rd grade GameBoy designed it. 😀
