I always dreamed of a PC which made no noise, It would be Quiet at any and every situation and do all the wok quietly....
of course, I want it to be quiet during gaming and other heavy works on it, that's the dream ! every 1s dream !
I've always gone for quiet, !
Anted Solo case is really good. Sound deadening side panels, soft silicone grommets on hard disk trays, (recent boot SSD helped make it even quieter), Arctic Cooler and fans, with Asus "Cool'n'quiet" set up in BIOS,
Seasonic 430w PSU's fan speed set by a heat sensor I think - so that makes hardly any noise at all. Zotac Passive (no fan) cooler Geforce 9400 GT (old AGP now), so no noise from that, no good for high end games of course but, I don't play high end games. Core clock: 550 MHz, 512MB of DDR2 memory, ...did spend a few hours on FarCry that came bundled with it, seemed to run swiftly enough. Soft silicone "pull-through" mounts for all case fans, Arctic 7 cooler already has them.
Just transplanted that lot, (M3N78 mobo) into Lian-Li case that had an old Conroe 865PE board in it, so Antec case now has a new Asus M5A97 Evo R2.0 board+AMD FX8320+8GB Tactical Ballistix awaiting arrival of a Zotac GT 720 (passive cooler), 797mhz core clock ....so that I can switch it on
Quiet is good
regards, Richard
