Silence while on the phone

Am I the only person who feels weird anytime no one says anything for 5-10 seconds? As soon as it happens, I get off the phone and just tell them I have to go.

Anytime someone calls me, I'm usually always the one to get off first because if they're not saying anything it annoys the piss out of me.
 
I don't use the phone to talk about nothing... if I call someone or they call me, it's for a reason. So... that doesn't happen.

a frind just called asking about a winch for sale, after i told him the answer to what he asked, he just sat there. finally after waiting 10 seconds, i said i'm going to lunch.

It annoys the hel outa me. But she's a great gal, just one of her little quirks.

oh, and I agree, call someone for a reason, when that's done HANG UP!!

My Mom does that all the time. She has problems though and she can space out occassionally. I ask her if she's still there just to make sure my cell phone didn't drop the call. It's kind of annoying but what are you gonna do?
 
You need to hook up w/ a latina, they will talk allllllll day long. They're like energizer bunnies, but w/ a hot ass.

Yeah, my wife used to do that when we were dating. Like you and the OP, I'd end the conversation when it happened... because it meant we ran out of things to talk about (I was nice about it of course).

See, now that I hate. It's really bothersome when people keep blathering on about things I couldn't care less about, and I just want to get on with doing stuff, because there's only so much I can do while I'm holding a phone with my hand (or the head/shoulder thing) and pretending to care ("uh-huh", "yeah", laughs where appropriate).
