Most people around here got a link to their rig page on the sig. However, that takes up A LOT of characters.
How about making a tag for rigs? Something like:
[R=rig_id]Blah blah[/R]
and automatically generate the link to the rig page.
Either that, or increasing the max sig limit to something slightly larger than 255 characters would be nice, although I'm aware of all the hassle of database limitations and everything. 🙂
