Signs of too much video card overclocking?

I have an Asus V8200 T2 Deluxe GeForce 3 Video card, and I've been upping the core clock frequency and memory clock frequency using coolbits, I've been able to push it to 250 / 440 but when I'm playing counter strike sometimes the game will freeze and if you're firing a gun it'll repeat the sound. Before When I would attempt to overclock my video card I couldn't get it past 220 / 420 without having artifacts on the screen while playing counter strike, now the graphics is clear but it crashes. I dunno if its the video card thats crashing or its just my game, I never have any problem with other games.

It's probably just heat buildup that's taking out your core. In my experience, too high a core frequency gives outright, hard locks. Too high a memory, OTOH, gives the artifacts I'm sure you're familiar with.
