Signing up for Paypal

I'm thinking about signing up for paypal. Are there any monthly fees or anything like that? How does it work? Have to use a credit card? I don't really mind doing that I guess. If someone wants to reffer me I can do that and give ya extra $5.

a credit card is really helpful, no fees if you keep your account empty all the time and just use your cc when you want to make transactions..that's what i do atleast
