Signing up for kroger plus card, show ID?

I hardly shop at Kroger but occasionly want to when they have the rare good sale on an item, my store is OOS of something, etc, so I wanna kroger card, but don't want to give my real info if possible. Do they ask for ID when signing up?
Seems I remember reading on here or somewhere about people doing this.

If you are that concerned, just give your real name but a fake address/phone, if they asked just say you moved.

There are good reasons not to fill out a fake card application. One of the reasons would be that if you ever use a credit card to shop with your "fake" shopper card, it will ever after be linked to the real you.

But of course, if you use a credit card, it is likely that your purchases will be tracked, whether or not you have a "loyalty" card.
