Signing up for blockbuster online rental... (netflix pissed meo ff)

They have those first month free things all the time, anyone know where I can get a coupon/code something to get the first month free? I want the 3 at a time plus 1 in store rental a week. Thanks in advance.

NM. found a better one. For promo code put in bbstore. You get first month free. Supposedly its supposed to be for bb employees but lots of people have done it and it works for everyone. They don't check for employment.

Just FYI, I used to do Netflix until they started getting really slow on me. Blockbuster is the same way. At first it was really fast, getting at least 3 movies a week, but after a month and a half the deliveries came to something like 3 movies every two weeks... 🙁

Actually they're mormon. And I never found their selection to be a problem. Rented Kid's and plenty other supposed controversial movies. I know they've been accused of removing elements of movies that they don't like....but I think that's a myth.

Their service worked fine for me, excpet that I never really used it. But IIRC, you get 2 free in-store rental coupons per month, not 1/week....unless they've changed things.

I had the same problem. Netflix would've been awesome as they have everything but speed. Punishing users for USING the service? Pfft.

Mormon? I don't believe that is right. Wayne Huizenga founded blockbuster and he isn't mormon. He was getting critisized for being a christian right and censoring media in blockbuster.

Though that is besides the point. I've always had a hard time finding decent independent flicks at blockbuster, or even anything but "new releases". Mabey their online service is better?

Service became unbearably slow. Im to the point where I'll get the movie. Return a day or two later and then wait more than a week to get a replacement for that movie. Thats to long IMO, especially compared to what they started at. So I know what they are capable of, but they are purposely slowing down on users that use the service a lot.


I realize Blockbuster will do the same things, but not at first. I really didn't want to switch to BB, but they are really the best deal around right now, especially with the free in store rentals (one per week now, btw). Im just hoping netflix will wise up and return to their (what used to be very good service) in order to stay competitive/beat blockbuster.

they just gave me an offer to switch from 2 a month to 1/week. i havent changed yet for the fact don't think i would go in weekly and i liek getting 2 movies at a time.

I don't doubt it will happen. But I figure I got a free month with BB, and prob. a good month or two with pretty good service. Why not try it out?
