Signing over a business check to someone?

So a client issued a check to me in my new corporate name. Great, except the state seems to be taking months to process my corporate documents and I have this giant check that's effectively uncashable until that's done.

Can I sign this over to myself and cash it in my personal account?

Thoughts on how to cash it?

I Am Not A Lawyer, but funds received as revenues to a corporation must be received by that corporation in order for them to be taxed properly. Receiving the funds directly as an individual would amount to tax evasion.

In my 5 years experience as a personal banker, the check would have to be placed in an account under the corporations name. You could, however, see if they would allow you to purchase a cashier's check with that check, and make it out to yourself. Sometimes they will do this, if have a trusting relationship with the bank. Otherwise, you'll have to wait.
