signing off from residential broadband

FoBoT

No Lifer
the only thing left in the basement (moving out of a rental house) is the cable modem, my laptop and me

no more high speed internut for me! :clock:

ah shucks, i remember that day when i moved outta college.

but, to be honest with you i've had broadband ever since. its just too easy to hook up, it takes a phone call, convincing housemates that thye want broadband (Everyone wants broadband!) and then splitting the $30/month bill amongst 4 people- nobody complains! its cheaper than using dialup!

the only thing available at my new house is

dial up

ISDN (may/may not be available and not sure its worth the price)

Sprint Wireless (only a hair faster than dial up/not worth the price, yet)

satellite (latency isn't for me and price is too high)

You should try the DSL here on campus. It's pathetic. They have one DSL connection for 6 buildings. Yeah, one pipe running between 6 buildings. It gets pretty freakin slow around here sometimes (when it even works)
