The briefing will originate from the James E. Webb Auditorium, 300 E St., S.W., Washington, and will be carried live on NASA TV with two-way question-and-answer capability for reporters covering the event from participating NASA centers.

Dr. Ed Weiler, Associate Administrator, Office of Space Science at NASA Headquarters, will make opening remarks. The panelists include:

Professor Steve Squyres, Mars Exploration Rover (MER) Principal Investigator, Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.
Professor John Grotzinger, MER science team geologist, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass.
Dr. Benton C. Clark III, MER science team member and Chief Scientist of Space Exploration, Lockheed Martin Space Systems Astronautics Operations, Denver
Dr. Joy Crisp, MER Project Scientist, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.

Totally. I don't think the rovers were equipped to search for microbes.

Not just your sock, everyones socks. It turns out socks are a new lifeform. They are born on earth, and once they mature the great Sock scientist transport them back to mars. But the problem is that they have to warm and slightly electrically charge before they can make the trip through the wormhole.

Fossil eveidence of microscopic organisms.:p

Really. I mean they pretty much said they found those in a Mars meteroite a few years back and then said they couldn't prove it, correct?
I think this will be the proof.

Either that or my sex life.

$10 on water

...they were investigating why martion soil was sticking to the treads of opportunity. Speculation was that salt water (low freeze pt) was mixed in with the soil making mud.

Yip. just looked at a picture with a thing in a rock that looked like rigatoni pasta. Also water, its curious why the soil is sticking to the wheels of rover. if it was dust it would look like the wheels on the Moon buggy.

They will be announcing that after the rover has done extensive analysis of rock samples, that they all appear to have a reddish hue.

That is all.

FYI - all of you with DishNetwork, you get NASA TV. You may have overlooked it in the past because it's up there with the shopping networks, but it's there. Check your guide for channel number.

I don't have it here (cable), but I'm at work anyway.

My bets on water

along the lines of "evidence of past significant moisture found in liquid form"
