And it has a steam room. Tell me, what is that stuff in the steam room? It's not just steam. It has a strange smell to it, like menthol. Is that safe to breathe in? Me and the two guys who went with me all had problems breathing in there and also our fingers and faces were tingling when we got out.

And what's with all the naked older guys in the locker room. I came in to put my stuff in a locker, worked out for an hour, came back, and they were still naked sitting around on the benches. Does this happen at all gyms?

the steam room just feels that way cause the air is so hot and i think that smell is the coal burning. i have asthma and going in those actually clears me up pretty nicely.

also naked old men at gyms is very common.

The steam room can have insense or something burning and gives it the smell.

Also, the high humidity does make it harder to breath for normal people.

The heat and moisture also gives that tingling feeling.

Alos, naked old men are normal.

the smell could be menthol crystals or eucalyptus oil, which are both used in saunas. i'm not really sure if they have any purpose other than their aroma.

Yes, that's pretty typical.

It is difficult to breathe deeply in a steam room I've found. I can only stand it for 5 minutes or so and then I have to get out of there.

Funny story, I was alone in the steam room at my gym many many years ago and some guy comes in and sits down at the other end of the room. He removes his towel and starts beating off. I quickly got the hell out of there. I should have reported his dumb ass. :|

Another time I went to the Sports Connection in West Hollywood after work to get in a quick workout (I was working near the corner of Wilshire and La Brea at the time and that was the nearest club). That place was like a gay social club. :shocked: I'm sure there were other straight guys in there but we were definitely in the minority. :laugh:

Well unfortunately these are not attractive men. 60+ lbs overweight. 50+ years old.
Luckily no one really goes in the steam room. I really enjoyed it other than the whole not being able to breathe well part. I just keep getting the feeling I am being watched.
