The problem may be that you are using one of the newer internet security programs, such as Norton Internet Security, and your settings are too strong. If so, try temporarily turning it off to see if that is the problem. If you are using the firewall in Windows XP, temporarily disable it. If that allows you to update your profile, try adjusting the strength of your settings.

And I don't have Norton.


Ok, since you mentioned Norton,,,

I turned off my ZoneAlarm firewall... and the update worked.

This never used to be a problem before... so the forum has some feature that I normally have blocked.
 
its the web filtering feat, gotta turn it off, update sig then turn it back on
