Signal dropping HDMI to projector

Hi I have a conference room table with a power and comm module.
I'm going from a laptop thru a 3' HDMI cable to the power module that is a female to female HDMI tail thru a 50' HDMI cable into a projector. The 50' HDMI works when it's just hooked up directly to the projector. As soon as I add the f to f tail with the hdmi patch cord no signal!!
Suggestions?
 
Try a different 3' cable and a different adapter/tail. Since you know the 50' cord works, it has to be a problem with one of those two items.
