Sigh. My gaming days are over.

So, what will you have now? Antiquing and Quilting?

Well, its obvious now that my fiancee would rather me spend time doing stuff with her than play games when we are together (we live together right now but in separate beds until we get married). And she doesn't like video games. Actually, since she is still in school, I could probably sneek in a few games on Wednesday night when she has night class 🙂

Oh man, you are so doomed to lead an unhappy life...

are u gonna shun ur freinds and tell them to leave if they come over while she is there that other liked whipped guy on this forum?

does this mean ur delted ur porn stash too?

man u suck.

So what your wife likes is more important than what you like? Unless you grow some cohenes, you will be very unhappy in your marriage.

If you're wife can't respect your hobbies and pass times enough to let you keep them then I can already see there will be problems in your marriage. If you're choosing to give up those things because you are going to be spending all your time doing things you WANT to do, not just the things she TELLS you to do... then you'll be ok I guess 🙂

Well, I guess I'll still play. It just won't be the same anymore.

I am someone who flunked Organic Chemistry because Quake II came out.

I maxed out my credit card in college (when it was only $800) because I had to get a Sega Saturn at launch (and pay $400 for that piece of crap).

I used to have lan parties at my place.

I have had every single game console since the Atari 2600 (including the Panasonic 3do when it came out at $700).

I have had almost every single NVIDIA graphics card ever made.

I used to run a computer hardware website.

Good times. Good times.

I kinda agree here... If you dont start getting your way on a few things she will know and you will be wearing the panties in the household.

The odds of your marriage lasting is very low...why change your personal habits.

I used to be like you (not as crazy with the money I guess), but loved playing games. My wife still buys me computer games for Christmas, birthdays, father's days etc...

The difference is that I am choosing not to put as much time in them anymore. Between my wife, my daughter, my work, my friends, my pool, my soccer, my hockey and my house, games are just a low priority. Rather than playing a few hours a day like I used to, I now play a few hours a week.

If my wife told me not to play games, then I would have resented her and we would have had problems. Instead, I have made it a low priority and I do it when I can.

Yeah, that's pretty strict.

wild and crazy sex for maybe a year or two, then it begins to dwindle, and your gaming will begin again.

Exactly what happened to me.

Don't give up gaming, and don't let your wife make you do that. Like everyone else said, you all have your own joys.. Why give them up?

There's something incredibly wrong if you give up gaming (obviously a favorite passtime) just because of a marriage. Game in moderation, but by all means dont stop just because she doesn't like 'em.
