Driving home today, when I would come to a stop the engine would idle below 1k RPM, fall down to almost 0, rev itself back up, and so on until I accelerated back again. The last two times it has done this it fell so far it stalled but I gave it gas before it did that today.

Got home, idled fine in the drive way. Opened the hood and noticed water droplets around the water pump area. Don't think that would be the issue? It sounds very odd when idling.

Spark plugs? Wires? The water pump wouldn't cause any of this, would it? I'm hoping its condensation.

I don't think it was bad gas because this has now been a reoccurring problem. Fuel system maybe? Fuel pump?

How old? Miles?

You wouldn't have condensation at this time of year. Heck, no time of year should you get condensation on the water pump because it is warm/hot water, not cold.

Has the vehicle been maintained? I mean, have you been following the recommended maintenance from the owners manual? Too often, people disregard the owners manual and just fix what breaks.

How long has this been happening? Where are you from? If in the IL, IN area did you get any BP gas the past week? Even if not, water in your gas or clogged fuel filter could be the culprit. Dump a bottle of HEET into you gas tank and see if things improve.

I just put a bottle of seafoam in my tank. Going to let that run and see what happens. I realized that it was damp out (Florida, its always raining) every time I can remember the engine having these problems. From what I understand, bad spark plug wires will make the engine react poorly when its damp out from the moisture disturbing the natural flow, so I replaced them today.

I wanted to seafoam the fuel line but that was too involved for me to attempt today.

I'm going to check for vacuum leaks as soon as I can, ran out of time today.
