Well I'm not sure how it happen but the core on my 2000+ got chipped. On one of the corners you can see part of the core missing. 🙁

It was such a good chip to, it could OC to 1.9GHz at 1.8v.

Whats interesting is it wont post at 133fsb but seems to work fine at 100fsb. So here I am typing on a cpu ment for 1.6ghz running at 1.2ghz intill my 2400+ gets here.

This is my first chipped core, how depressing.

What kind of speeds can I expect from a 2400+ on a Soyo Dragon ultra plat? (KT333) and are 2400+'s locked or unlocked?

sorry to hear that man

well the xp2400 has an average OC of 2350mhz
2500 is quite possible if you got a good board and good cooling

Threads like this are why I am one of the few who believe the IHS is a good thing for the majority of DIYers. Hardcores will remove the IHS anywho so it's a non-issue really.

Nice choice for the cpu's
My 1st 2000+ Tbred A did 1.9Ghz at 1.74V until CPU fan quit and cpu cooked
My 2nd 2000+ Tbred B did 2.25Ghz at 1.74V until it was replaced by a 2400+ which is waitting for a new motherboard

My 2000+ isnt 100% dead as it runs just fine on a 100fsb but refuses to post using a 133fsb.

I was wondering tho if someone could help with bios question and the 2400+

Soyo's website has a bios upgrade for my board but it says its only for use with low powered cpus. I'v been searching and cant seem to find any info about any low powered cpus other then mobile chips.

Are Tbred's thought as being low powered?

Well over a year ago the same thing happened to me - I had some problems with stability so I decided to reseat the HSF (big mistake) and managed to chip a corner off! Would only work at 100 FSB. Thought I was the only person who'd seen this up to now!
