sigh, firefox is pissing me off

been like this for the past month. it won't save my passwords. it will save the user name info but not passwords. even if i check remember me/save/etc. it doesn't save it.

i've tried reinstalling and deleting the mozilla folder in program files.

just reinstalled it completely two times in a row and it still has my bookmarks/cookies/history/etc.

wtf?

Try using a new profile. Your profile, which contains your bookmarks, cookies, and passwords, is located in your %appdata%/Mozilla.

Did you? 😉 w3stfa11 gave you a good answer.

Backup your bookmarks and wipe out your profile. No need to reinstall FF as user settings, etc. aren't stored in the program dir.

chrome
components
defaults
extensions
greprefs
plugins
res
searchplugins
uninstall

... in my Firefox install, these are the directories
in the Mozilla Firefox folder.

besides "non uninstall", which of these folders
would have the configuration files, cookies, etc.
that would affect the "auto-complete/ password
remembering" function ?

i was wondering if checking permissions on
that directory, might be a decent trouble-shooting
tactic.
