Gainward GEFORCE4 TI 4200 128MB VGA & TV-OUT, DVI-OUT AGP 8X
(on Epox 8RDA+)

Current problems: Tray icons look terrible (they display at like 150dpi while the rest of the screen is at 96 dpi or any other setting) , unable to set resolution up properly on monitor, poor resolution on DVD

Which drivers should I install?
I pop in the CD and I get 2 options VGA (fast) or WQL or something like that or should I do a clean install of the latest drivers I dl'ed

Should I install Direct X 9 or not? If so, before or after video drivers

Everything will be a clean install

Install DX9a first off the MS site
Download the latest Detonators from nVidia (44.03 WHQL)
Install.

Yep most users prefer to use Nvidia reference drivers including myself, since they are updated faster .

Btw you might find this handy for the future click here for Driver Cleaner 1.5

Also disable anti-virus program just before install of the new Nvidia drivers.

Thanks for the replies,

where can I get a BIOS Flash for this VGA? (I looked on nvidia's site)

also, how do I adjust and flash the BIOS. the included Gainward software had a program called "Expert Tool" that did all this, but I fear installing that cause that would be like having two control panels for this thing (nvidia one and expert tool) right?

I don't think you should flash the bios. I think you need to get the latest drivers from LINKED.

Just install these without any Antivirus Software running. If this doesn't work then uninstall all Drivers (Nvidia, etc.), reboot and then install again.

Also, what OS, Direct X version, OS Patched, etc. ?

Direct X9a
Win XP (w/SP1 pre-loaded) and updated

did what I said I would. the still display is pretty good, but when playing a DVD it does not seem as sharp as it should be
