I've been waiting for the sequal since the first one came out.. what an incredible game that was! First I was waiting for the release date in April.. then it bumped to June... and now I checked today and it's September... :( What's the point in even having release dates these days? I just hope DX2 doesn't turn into TF2.. it should be sooooo coool.

:brokenheart:

DX2 is no TF2...the PR for the game has been quite active lately, almost every major game site carried a new preview a month or two ago, screen shots have been coming out regularly, and GameSpot just reported last week there will be three playable levels for those attending E3.

I actually don't mind if game developers take a long time to make a game because they'll hopefully tweak and fix the game until it's near perfect (i.e. Blizzard). It IS annoying that they keep teasing us with release dates though. With Deus Ex, I really hope that they hammer out any problems before they release the game.

This is why I've tried hard to not see any release dates: so I won't be disappointed! September eh? and you say it's pushed back a couple of times already? Sounds positive.

Where are you looking at these "release dates" anyway? EBworld.com? Those are not official. Dues Ex 2 does not have an official release date, just like most games don't. Until you see an official press release that states that the game will be released on a certain day, i wouldn't believe anything else.

I agree that DX2 definitely won't end up being another TF2. I'd guess that DX2 will come out this year. However, previews and screenshots don't mean anything. TF2 previews and screenies came out 4+ years ago and we still don't have the game.

What's the point in giving release dates any credibility at all? Why allow yourself to get all hot and wet over something that's far off?

DX2 will ship someday and it will be a great game, judging from history and their plans for the title. I can wait but I'm perhaps older and more learn-ed than some. ;)
