Ahh, you've only been here for a little while. Back in the day the AT forums were sucking up soo much bandwidth that Zuni and Anand had to limit the amount of bandwidth the forums could use, due to cost restrictions. The subscription service was MUCH faster, add free, and you got a few other perks as a subscriber. Plus, I've gotten to support my favorite website 🙂
 
I really enjoy the subscription service and pray that once it expires the forums will be at the same speed that I'm getting now.
 
The generic server isn't that bad; the left-bar ad is empty, and the banner ads, are well, banner ads, no one notices them.😉

Besides that, I don't see anything bad about generic server though. But, I never been on subscription before. 😀
