Okay.. I have a monitor and its been workin fine for my pc stated below in my signature for the past week. I did run into issues sometimes where it wouldnt kick back after it suspended forcing me to reboot.

Then all of a sudden.. i restarted cause my machine froze and the monitor powers on.. and it just now blinks "No signal check signal cable"

It did this the other day too.. and as ii was looking for a cure, it suddenly powered on randomly.. (the monitor).. Now its just blinking that same msg over and over.. I tried my brothers monitor and it worked after I cleared the CMOS.. So I then cleared it again and tried it again with the monitor.. it looks like the signal is trying to get to the monitor.. flashes real quick then blinks back into "No signal check signal cable"

Anyone have ANY clue whats going on.. It cant be the PSU.. its a 500w with a 34A on the 12V rail.. :(

Or is it the monitor?

Hi. Have you considered it could be the video card? Try taking it out and checking to see if the contacts are clean - if not, you can clean them with a standard eraser. Since you have another monitor that seems to work (you shouldn't have had to clear the CMOS to test it but that's ok, you'll just have to fix all your BIOS settings), that would rule out the possibility of it being the monitor wouldn't it?

Make sure when the card is seated that it is in all the way. Also watch for when you tighten the screws that you aren't slightly unseating it on the last 1-2 turns of the screw - sometimes overtightening the screw to lock the card in place can cause the back end of the contacts to rise out of the slot just enough to cause problems. If you have another rig to mess around with, try the card in that system and see if you get the same problem.

It could also be something as simple as your VGA cable. Perhaps it is worn down and needs to be replaced. g/l
