Look at the picture!
I think they are adding two more, look at the poster to the left
Obsidian x5

remember the old 3dfx obsidians, the fastest 3d cards you could get at the time that was basicly two chips on one card working in sli mode.

Hard to read, but it seems to be based on the Geforce4

Ouch
Our contacts indicate that TSMC's average yields at 0.13 micron have been just 15%. So even if the part was ready for volume production later this year, those poor yields are likely to impact the number of parts meeting spec that you can get to market.

Doesn't look good for Nvidia :(, Hope they manage to start getting better yields, and release NV30 this year...

They should prbably just do a refresh with the GF4 to keep up with the R300......... till they get the 0.13 procecss working good.

NV28/NV17.
It's already planned.
NV28 is the refresh of the GF4, very slightly higher clockspeed and AGP 8X capable.
NV17 is the refresh of the GF4 MX, and it looks to be merely an AGP 8X capable GF4 MX.

AIB manufacturers havent displayed much interest in the NV17/NV28 as yet though.

Rand

Isn't NV17 = GF4MX?

wouldn't it be NV18 = refresh of GF4MX?

It seems to me everyone is hoping that the NV30 will be released by christmas (wishful thinking) but I think (like is nVidia's modus operandi) the refresh will come first.

Cheers,
Aquaman

They will probably put it out on a .18 process, then come out with the .13 later if yields are that low.
Then again 15% may be all they need with sales as the Radeon 9700 will be selling.

Yea, Rand means NV18. Now, here's one thing tho Rand, Where have you heard that NV28 would have a higher clocked spedds? I realize that it would make sense for them to increases at least the mem clock and maybe the Core too but, this is the first Ive heard that NV28 would be anything more than just a NV25+AGP 8X

Inquirer + Digit-Life and sources such as that. Nothing terribly reliable, but it strikes me as logical that they'd bump the clockspeeds a small amount.
