Also, what do you own right now?
Will you carry it as well?

Cuz right off the bat I am thinking Sig, just because its the overall better gun. Not that you should never have a Springfield.

I like both those guns, you cant go wrong either way, but I would go with the sig If I had to pick.

Sig, for sure. It's no P226, but the new SP series are competitive at these price points. If you can drop a little bit more down, the P250 may interest you; it's modular (e.g. interchangeable frames, barrels, etc.)

Then when you're ready to start dropping some cash down, consider the H&K USP line. Those have been my favorite semi-autos.

The Sig comes with night sights, has better ergos IMO, has lighter single action trigger pull.

XDM can have 4 more 9mm rounds with extended magazine, has lighter double action trigger pull.

I'd go with the Sig for the night sights, but that's me.

I don't think the Sig has the night sights. It says 2022 Basic. They ran the same gun about 6 months ago for that price and it was kinda a stripped down version. I could be wrong though. Still it is a nice gun and if you look around the web there are some pretty good reviews of it.

Sig offers a lot at that price. You should have noticed better fit and finish and darker finish. I personally can't stand polymer pistols but if I was only looking to spend $450 or so you can't go wrong. Grip size is a bit small tho...

I say get the XDm.

Ergos, both have changeable backstraps, so go hold them. I think it is hard to beat the 2022 trigger, but like what the XDm offers in capacity and as a company.

I don't think the XDm offers second strike capability and don't remember if the 2022 offers it.

Both are good hand guns but I give the edge to the Sig.
I carry a Kahr CW9 myself.
