Anyone else noticed these unwritten rules? You can promote your own forums or business in your sig no problem, but can't post about it... You can flame someone all you want for what they say in their posts, but their sig is off-limits. I never really thought much about it till some lil brat started giving me sh!t about my sig, I was almost offended, like... wtf, you're not supposed to do that...?

You're not allowed to berate someone's sig? I never heard about that rule

Not against any forum rules or anything, just one of those little unwritten, un-commented-upon nuances of the board.

I personally ignore most of the sigs, in favor of reading the posts in whatever thread has caught my interest. Sometimes one will pique my interest, but it is rude to hijack someone else's thread with a comment about a poster's sig, regardless of the nature of that comment.

You're right, an unwritten rule does seem to apply to sigs, unless they are _visually_ obnoxious, like a 20-line system rig sig (OK to make fun of their n00bness) or a 30-line ASCII art monster.

I do now and then have to restrain myself from commenting on a sig with a wrongly attributed or mangled quote.
