Sierra AIRCARD510 + wireless Networking Questions

A year ago or so i got the aircard 510 for free in the mail--at the time, I had no laptop to try it out. I remember people talking about having it used for wireless dialup networking...

Now I have a laptop, and I am trouble using it. It always says the computer is not responding when I try to dialup. My laptop is using Win2K--the card is the Sprint PCS card.

Can someone help me use this for dialup wirelessly? Thanks.

Also, do I absolutely NEED an access point for wireless networking? I just want to painlessly network my laptop and PC for transfer of files at night.

Thanks!

One more thing--I lost the CD that came with the Aircard. Should I just download the regular drivers from their site?
