big deal...he isnt THAT good.....I am sorry but naming him the next gretzky or lemieux was a big mistake.

The kid isnt physical like they mae him out to be, and when he was in the QMJHL, he got ridiculously protected, never got hit by anyone as they would end up in the box and with a game off to think about it.
I do think he has talent, but he isnt the savoir of hockey, the NHL teams need to bring the fans back and Crosby isnt going to do that, its a simple fact. I dont find him charismatic enough.

I loved watching Gretzky, Lemieux, Roy, Bourque...this kid..I am impartial

This kid has a lot of talent and a lot of potential to be a star in this league, but he will need help.

I think they need to keep the talking down to a minimum. With the way they talk about him, they are going to be putting more pressure on him than any other player in history. If he messes something up (which he will, he's just a kid still), it' going to be on every sports channel, every paper and the media could break this kid.

He will need the support from every player on pittsburgh to reach his potential.

I disagree about the part of bringing the fans back. The fact is, he is bringing them back. I live in Pittsburgh and all I ever see on the news now is how Season ticket sales have been amazing. With all of the publicity of how good he is, I sure think the a lot of fans are anxious too see him

it's not like he hasnt been in the spotlight before. he's dazzled, even on the international stage. the kid is good.

but also look at lebron james. he was hyped, and he lived up to that hype and more. i think crosbys going to live up to his hype...

As for the hype... I'm sold... after I get Center Ice, the only other team I'll be tuning in for is Pittsburgh.

There's no way Crosby is going to survive the hard-hitting defenceman that exist in the NHL. He's going to get so much ice time that it's just a matter of time before he's out for a significant amount of time with a serious injury as a result of getting creamed by guys the likes of Pronger and Stevens.
